Cashew Kernels - KTP are basically 2-pc/3-pc/4-pc/6-pc/8-pc mixed cashews. Most of the nuts in KTP have husk (testa) present in it. The reason for that is - it is very difficult to remove husk in some of the Cashew Nuts at the time of Cashew Processing. Although it is not at all bad nutritionally, it is being sold at lower price as compared to other grades due to presence of husk in every nut.
But if KTP is soaked in water over-night, its easy to remove Cashew Husk from each & every nut but it has to be used almost the same day. Hence, it is used by those businesses, corporates & HORECA who can soak it in water & use it for culinary purpose almost the same day.
